Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 11, 2026
PulsarCast ("the app") is designed to respect your privacy. You can use the whole app without creating an account, we don't show ads, we don't use third-party trackers, and we never sell your data or share it for advertising. This policy explains what we handle and why.
What we do NOT do
- No advertising and no advertising trackers.
- We never sell your personal data or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
- We don't ask for your name, phone number, or address.
What stays on your device
By default, your podcast library, your lists, downloaded episodes, and your listening progress are stored on your device. If you don't create an account, they are not uploaded to any server.
Optional account and sync
You can create a free account to keep your library in sync across your devices. The account is optional and the app works fully without it.
- Email address: creating an account uses your email. There is no password. We send you a one-time sign-in code or link to confirm it's you.
- Synced data: when you're signed in, the app stores on our server (api.pulsarcast.com) the data needed to sync: the podcasts you follow, your lists, your episode progress, your app preferences and your listening stats.
- Security: this data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Deletion: you can delete your account and all of this data at any time, from Settings → your account → Delete account in the app, or by emailing us. See Delete your account and data.
Suggestions, votes and bug reports
The app has a section to suggest features, vote on them, and send bug reports. For this we handle:
- An anonymous device identifier: a random code (UUID) the app generates on first launch, used to limit one vote per device. It is not linked to your identity or your account.
- The content you submit voluntarily: the text of your suggestions and bug reports, along with the app version, used to improve PulsarCast.
- Minimal technical data: to prevent abuse, the request's IP address is processed in an anonymized way (only an encrypted value is stored, never the IP in clear).
Suggestions are reviewed before they're published. You can report inappropriate content from within the app.
Podcast playback
When you add a podcast, the app connects directly to that podcast's servers (its RSS feed and audio files), which are third parties. Those connections don't go through us and are governed by each provider's privacy practices. To discover podcasts we use public search APIs (Apple's iTunes Search and the Podcast Index).
Subscriptions
If you buy an optional subscription, the purchase is handled by the app store you installed from (Apple App Store or Google Play). Payment and your financial data are managed by the store; we never receive or store them.
Children
PulsarCast is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
You can access the data linked to your account from within the app, and you can delete your account and associated data at any time (see Delete your account and data). For the anonymous suggestions identifier we can't identify you, but if you contact us we'll do our best to handle any request related to content you've submitted.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll change the date above and publish the new version on this page.
